A-ticket, A-tasket.
"A-tisket, a-tasket. I lost my yellow basket. Won't someone help me find my basket. And make me happy again” -
Arguably one of the catchiest tunes in jazz, this piece of music recorded on May 2, 1938, single-handedly launched Ella Fitzgerald, into fame and traveled with her throughout an extremely successful career.
Many of these baskets are from the Era of Ella, which is why we started collecting them, although we haven't visited Antique Road Show to get an appraisal on each, we just know they're pretty old.
Commonly used as sewing baskets, These are hand woven from from natural fiber, some still bear the natural dyes. All are antique, in various sizes.
The weaving is tight and shows the signs of use and age that we love so much… they have earned their patina with nature light fading. Collected over the years from local flea markets, and a little lady who had a yard sale every year and weeded her collection for me.
all of our vintage goods are well loved & not perfect. Just like us.
